P.M. Session: 10 students to 1 teacher with a floating helper (Class assignments will be made in August.) This session has time for additional art, games and outdoor activities.  The nature of the afternoon session includes more large muscle activities such as flying kites, driving the ride in cars/wagons and additional outdoor learning centers because it is often warmer in the afternoons.

Developmental Psychologists tell us that there are sequential steps in a child's cognitive and psychosocial development. Skills developed at one stage become the foundation for future understanding. If we do not allow our kids appropriate time to master basic skills before placing them in advanced situations, the resulting deficits will show up later in life in some form. If your child has a birthday in June or July, you might want to consider holding them back for Kindergarten until the following year.

Please note that Southern Hancock School Corporation does require children to be 5 years old by August 1st to enter Kindergarten.

All Pre-Kindergarten children should be potty trained but of course accidents still happen at this age.  Please keep a changes of clothing in your child's backpack. No one is shamed or scolded if an accident does occur.
